What is kratom

Kratom is a natural product obtained from the leaves of the Mitragyna speciosa tree, which grows in Southeast Asia, mainly in Indonesia and other countries in the region. The tree is characterized by its long green leaves, which are dried after harvesting and then ground into a fine powder.

White kratom

White kratom is made from leaves with veins that are light green to white. Such powder usually has a lighter color and a milder earthy aroma. Its texture is very fine.

Types of kratom by vein color

The color of the leaf veins is used to distinguish different types of kratom – there is white, green, or, for example, red kratom. Each has its specific properties and the color of the resulting powder.

Kratom legislation worldwide

In the Czech Republic, kratom can only be sold as a collectible item. It is not intended for consumption. Similar restrictions apply in, for example, Germany or Canada, where its sale is permitted with limited usage. By contrast, in some US states, the sale of kratom is banned or restricted—for instance, in New York, it is only available to persons over 21 years of age.
